Job Description
The Engineer Product II will contribute to the Product Verification & Validation (PV&V) of electric machines. This role involves planning, coordinating, and performing product design, testing, and analysis for moderately scoped projects or significant subsystems of major projects. Operating within a team environment, the engineer will provide input to design solutions, participate in design reviews, and may assign and review work of support personnel.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute PV&V plans and activities in VISION.
- Track and report Activity Completion Rating (ACR) to leadership.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to define and deliver PV&V plans.
- Conduct design analysis, simulation, lab tests, and field tests.
- Interpret and implement standards and regulations related to electric machines.
- Deliver small- to medium-scale projects within established program management plans.
- Maintain technical documentation and ensure data backup.
- Participate in training and development activities to enhance capabilities.
Skills & Abilities
- 2+ years of experience with rotating components, electric machine design, testing, or implementation.
- Experience testing electric motors, inverters, and general electrification systems.
- Proficiency with data acquisition equipment and instrumentation.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
- Ability to travel up to 25% (driving and flying).
- Experience with Windchill and Creo.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of electric drive components (inverters, connectors, energy storage).
- Analytical understanding of electric machine types and design.
- Experience with accelerated test methods and virtual verification.
- Familiarity with VISION system for creating activities, PV&V plans, work requests, and ACR charts.
- Ability to work independently and provide technical guidance.
Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
Additional Information
- Metatarsal safety shoes are required.
