JOB SUMMARY FOR SR. SALESFORCE PLATFORM ENGINEER:
Seeking a Sr. Salesforce Platform Engineer to join the Salesforce Platform Team at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago. This role focuses on delivering core capabilities and features of a strategic Salesforce platform, including design, build, security, and operationalization of reusable components. The engineer will partner with IT and Security teams to ensure platform stability and enable efficient delivery of enhancements.
RESPONSIBILITIES FOR SR. SALESFORCE PLATFORM ENGINEER:
- Drive design, engineering, implementation, and configuration of Salesforce platform services.
- Develop patterns for common platform needs (logging, monitoring, alerting, backup, encryption).
- Deliver APIs and abstractions for application developers.
- Manage Salesforce integrations with internal and 3rd-party systems.
- Configure and maintain Salesforce security models in compliance with InfoSec standards.
- Provide Tier 3 support for platform services and resolve configuration defects.
- Evaluate new Salesforce releases and assess impact.
- Develop automation for deployments to improve efficiency.
- Lead solution design discussions and maintain documentation for platform components.
- Train and coach teams on Salesforce platform best practices.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE FOR SR. SALESFORCE PLATFORM ENGINEER:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of direct work-related experience.
- Experience delivering Salesforce solutions from design to production.
- Strong background in CRM, Customer Support, Sales & Marketing domains.
- Experience integrating Salesforce with 3rd-party solutions.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting, diagnosis, and problem-solving.
- Familiarity with scripting languages (PowerShell or shell scripting).
- Experience with CI/CD tools and processes (GitLab).
- Platform certification is a plus.
- Experience with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) highly desired.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS FOR SR. SALESFORCE PLATFORM ENGINEER:
Top 3 Hard Skills:
- Must have experience in Salesforce Security Model.
- Must have experience in Salesforce Integration Patterns.
- Must have experience in Salesforce Flow Optimization.
- (Experience in Data Cloud is preferred.)

- Automated Testing & Quality Engineering (SFDX test automation, unit testing).
- Security & Governance (least-privilege access models, compliance frameworks, release governance).
