Job Description:

Our Automotive and E-Mobility client is seeking a dynamic, results-driven Engineering Systems Support Analyst / Administrator to join the IT Enterprise Engineering team at their Auburn Hills, Michigan facility. This role is responsible for supporting and maintaining enterprise-level engineering systems with a strong focus on ALM and Simulation platforms, and secondary support for ECAD technologies.

The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of emerging ALM, Simulation, and ECAD technologies, while maintaining a strong operational mindset to support day-to-day system reliability across group, multi-site, and enterprise environments.

Key Responsibilities

As part of the IT Enterprise Engineering Systems Run Team, this role will:

  • Provide enterprise-level support for ALM and Simulation applications, including installation and configuration (primary focus), with ECAD application support as a secondary responsibility

  • Support BorgWarner’s Software Factory development and support model

  • Respond to engineering incidents and service requests according to established priority levels

  • Analyze and troubleshoot complex technical issues, develop solutions, and coordinate resolution with peers and cross-functional teams

  • Meet and maintain agreed-upon SLAs for incidents and effectively manage service catalog tasks

  • Partner with other IT support teams to manage operational and project-related requests

  • Collaborate with peers on projects and assist with additional work as needed

  • Track, manage, and resolve open action items, ensuring timely closure

  • Maintain clear and proactive communication with peers and end users regarding open issues

  • Work closely with IT staff and business stakeholders to ensure overall technological effectiveness

Education & Experience

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field OR a minimum of 10 years of IT experience in lieu of a degree

  • 5+ years of experience in IT application development and large-scale end-user support

  • Hands-on experience supporting enterprise engineering tools, including:

    • ALM: Bitbucket, Polarion

    • Simulation: Altair, ABAQUS, LMS, CHPC & Cloud Visualization, MSC

    • ECAD: Mentor Graphics

  • Familiarity with multiple Software Factory development approaches, including manual, AI-driven, and hybrid models

  • Functional understanding of networking at workstation and enterprise levels

  • Experience supporting Microsoft Windows 11 environments

  • Demonstrated ability to work across multiple platforms, operating systems, and databases

  • Strong understanding of how networks, databases, hardware, software applications, and IT services interact

  • Knowledge of manufacturing and automotive business environments

  • Solid understanding of and ability to implement IT security best practices

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Batch scripting and/or PowerShell

  • Exposure to enterprise-scale engineering environments supporting global or multi-site operations
