Job Summary
This role architects and advances full electric powertrain solutions across a wide range of machine platforms. The position focuses on defining optimized electric powertrain concepts that integrate electric machines, power sources, power electronics, and electro?mechanical?hydraulic systems. Working closely with architecture and technical leadership, this role shapes scalable, future?ready solutions through virtual models, lab validation, and testbed demonstrations.
The opportunity offers deep exposure to low, medium, and high?voltage applications across both stationary and mobile platforms, with a strong emphasis on first?principles engineering and model?based development.
Responsibilities
- Architect full electric powertrain configurations across diverse machine platforms using digital engineering tools.
- Coordinate technical deliverables and timing across virtual simulation, laboratory testing, and testbed demonstrations.
- Develop and deploy scalable subsystem and component models for:
- Power electronics
- Electric machines
- Power sources
- Braking systems
- Advanced electro?mechanical transmissions
- Refine and synthesize new electric powertrain designs using strong engineering fundamentals and first?principles analysis.
- Collaborate closely with system architects and technical stewards to define optimized powertrain power?path concepts.
- Support product strategy decisions by translating analytical results into actionable architectural recommendations.
Years of Experience and Education
- Experience:
- 8–10+ years of relevant engineering experience in electric powertrain, electrification, or advanced system design roles
- Internship experience may count toward total years of experience
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering required
- Master’s or PhD preferred
- Candidates with a Master’s degree may be considered with 8+ years of experience
Skills Required
Technical Skills (Required)
- Model?based engineering and CAE tools, including:
- MATLAB
- Simulink / Simscape
- Simcenter
- ANSYS
- Python programming for analysis, automation, or simulation workflows is desirable
- Strong understanding of electric powertrain architectures, including power conversion, distribution, and system integration
Soft Skills (Required)
- Clear and effective technical communication
- Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills
- High level of emotional intelligence when working across disciplines
