Pay Rate: $65–$70/hour (depending on experience)
Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer / MES Engineer with strong hands-on experience in MES and/or SCADA systems, as well as manufacturing process setup in a high?volume production environment.
This role will function as a contract Manufacturing Engineer specialist supporting process design, system integrations, and MES/SCADA configuration and deployment. The engineer will be actively involved on the plant floor configuring, deploying, maintaining, and improving manufacturing systems that support production operations and new product introductions.
Key Responsibilities
MES / SCADA & Manufacturing Systems

Lead and execute MES system changes, including configuration updates and full MES deployments.

Provide hands-on support for SCADA and MES systems deployed on the plant floor.

Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities involving MES configurations and system readiness.

Maintain accurate records and prepare reports documenting MES system changes and improvements.

Participate in and support Manufacturing Requirements Engineering (MRE) system changes.

Coordinate design reviews with vendors, designers, and internal stakeholders.
Process Setup & Implementation

Lead manufacturing process setup activities, ensuring systems and processes are aligned for production.

Prepare manufacturing documentation and technical specifications.

Coordinate and support pilot builds, capturing issues and driving follow?up actions through resolution.

Execute and support training plans for new processes and system changes.
Project Leadership & Coordination

Lead and support multidisciplinary teams, becoming actively involved as needed to meet deadlines and resolve issues.

Communicate project status, risks, and escalations to management during periodic reviews.

Coordinate technical discussions and vendor negotiations.

Define, manage, track, and report MES budgets, including capital and expense spending.

Support manufacturing engineers and project managers across multiple project phases to achieve NPI and operational goals.
Required Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field.

Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with proven success leading projects and new process setup.

Strong, hands-on experience with MES and/or SCADA systems (required).

Experience configuring, deploying, and supporting manufacturing systems in a plant environment.

Proficiency with SQL Server, including writing queries to validate manufacturing and system data.

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and engineering tools such as Minitab, MATLAB, or similar.

Experience working with ERP systems and manufacturing simulation software.

Strong leadership skills with experience managing engineering projects and cross-functional teams.

Experience preparing and managing project timelines, resources, and budgets.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical documentation, reports, and presentations.

Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to changing manufacturing environments.

Prior experience in Automotive, Truck, or other high?volume, world?class manufacturing environments.

Experience supporting NPI launches, pilot builds, and plant system rollouts.
