Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented professional with a strong manufacturing background to perform process audits in an office and shop floor environment. This role focuses on observing and evaluating processes rather than performing engineering duties. The ideal candidate will have experience interpreting mechanical drawings, engineering formulas, and job aids, and will be comfortable interacting with shop floor technicians to ensure compliance and identify potential deficiencies.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough audits of manufacturing processes in both office (80%) and shop floor (20%) settings.
- Review and interpret mechanical drawings, control plans, and related documentation.
- Communicate effectively with shop floor technicians to gather information and clarify processes.
- Document findings and report potential deficiencies in manufacturing workflows.
- Work independently to meet timelines and provide solutions to process issues.
- Utilize Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint, Excel, Word) for reporting and communication.
Years of Experience and Education
- Experience: 5–7 years (internship experience accepted as part of the mix).
- Education: Bachelor’s degree required.
- Background: Manufacturing experience required (industry does not necessarily matter).
Skills Required
Technical Skills:
- Print reading and Control Plan experience.
- Strong computer literacy in Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
Soft Skills:
- Strong reading, writing, and speaking skills in English.
- Ability to confidently introduce oneself to shop floor technicians and conduct effective, lengthy audits without hesitation.
- Ability to clearly communicate, ask relevant questions, and document findings.
