Summary
Join our team as a Product Supervisor and play a key role in ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of a power generation facility. In this position, you will coordinate and supervise daily activities across operations, production, and support teams. You will set work priorities, oversee task completion, troubleshoot operational issues, and ensure adherence to safety, policies, and organizational goals. This role requires strong leadership, problem-solving capability, and a hands-on approach in a highly technical environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and supervise daily operations, production, and support team activities to ensure safety, reliability, and workflow efficiency.
- Lead and participate in Operating Reviews, problem?solving events, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Understand and drive departmental metrics/goals, visual management updates, and lean methodology practices.
- Identify waste reduction and automation opportunities; document improvements and drive them through completion.
- Provide recommendations for system/facility changes, enhancements, and operational improvements.
- Prepare and maintain job order reports, progress updates, and enterprise system documentation.
- Conduct cross?functional coordination with support groups related to work management priorities and operational needs.
- Serve as first?level troubleshooting for equipment malfunctions; collaborate with Maintenance and engineering support teams.
- Respond to employee inquiries, provide guidance, and instruct team members on complex or hazardous tasks.
- Oversee job inspections, evolution execution, progress tracking, and quality assurance of work completion.
- Execute administrative functions such as time approval, reporting, procedure reviews, and on?call rotation duties.
- Manage PPE acquisition, inspection, testing, and replacement.
- Supervise bargaining?unit staff in power generation operations, contractor oversight, and equipment integrity tasks.
- Plan, train, and develop operations personnel to ensure first?time quality and efficient performance.
- Lead or participate in special projects as needed.
- Apply union contract provisions and company policies consistently while providing coaching and development to employees.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in a Technical Field, Skilled Trades, or related discipline.
- 2–4 years of experience demonstrating technical knowledge in power plant operations or similar industrial environments.
- Broad knowledge of power plant operations, safety requirements, work methods, and related technologies.
- Strong leadership acumen with the ability to coordinate work across teams.
- Basic to broad knowledge in negotiation, conflict resolution, communication, and critical thinking.
- Thorough understanding of scheduling processes and operational metrics.
- Ability to adhere to and apply union contract provisions.
