Epitec is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to join our automotive client's team. As a Quality Engineer, the candidate will play a pivotal role in delivering externally sourced, new tooled parts for major vehicle and powertrain programs.
- This is an ongoing W2 contract

Responsibilities
- Identify and track new tooled end items (NTEI) for major vehicle and powertrain programs, including multi-party agreements and tier 2 suppliers.
- Develop and maintain program-specific NTEI files and manage data in the eAPQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) system.
- Train suppliers and cross-functional teams on Supplier Engagement Process and APQP/PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) readiness.
- Monitor, manage, and drive resolution of PPAP status, Schedule A submissions, and supplier launch risks.
- Prepare standard documentation for milestone reviews, special attention reviews, and new model launch assessments.
- Lead and facilitate cross-functional meetings to resolve PPAP issues and assure on-time approvals.
- Champion supplier selection and evaluation, collaborating with Product Development, Purchasing, and STA teams.
- Provide onsite STA launch support for build events and quality audits.
- Drive resolution of supplier quality issues, including containment and corrective actions.
- Support start-up meetings, audits, and program activity teams throughout the launch process.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related technical field (or equivalent manufacturing aptitude).
- Experience with quality management, APQP, PPAP, and supplier engagement processes.
- Knowledge of STA quality tools, new model launch systems, and eAPQP.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to proactively resolve issues.
- Excellent communication and training abilities for cross-functional and supplier teams.
- Ability to travel 10–15% to support onsite launch events and supplier meetings.
- Highly collaborative, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
