Job Requirement & Responsibilities:
The Material Flow Supervisor at John Deere will ensure the safe, efficient, and accurate movement of materials within the factory, playing a crucial role in maintaining production flow, inventory accuracy, and adherence to company standards. This role bridges planning and execution by implementing material plans and supporting production needs.
The role will have 3 focus areas to drive successful executions:
• People leadership and safety management: The supervisor directly oversees hourly material flow team members, ensuring compliance with safety policies, conducting safety talks, hazard analyses, incident investigations, and managing performance including training and coaching.
• Inventory control and production support: Responsibilities include maintaining accurate inventory through cycle counts and discrepancy analysis, supporting production by ensuring the right parts are delivered at the right time and place, minimizing line downtime, and coordinating with production control and supervisors.
• Operational efficiency and continuous improvement: The supervisor manages warehouse and internal logistics operations such as receiving, storage, and kitting, optimizes material flow paths and equipment use, executes production schedules from planning, collaborates cross-functionally, leads Lean initiatives, and tracks key performance indicators like safety, inventory accuracy, and productivity.
Experience:
Previous Material Flow supervision knowledge is preferred.
