Location: Mossville, IL 
Work Arrangement: On?site, Full?Time
Duration: 12?month contract
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
 Pay Rate: $21 an hr

About the Role

We are seeking a Buyer / Purchasing I to support procurement operations within a performance?focused manufacturing environment. This role provides hands?on exposure to purchasing, supplier evaluation, cost analysis, and compliance?driven procurement processes while working closely with experienced category buyers.


Key Responsibilities

  • Research and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, availability, service, and overall value
  • Purchase materials, equipment, and services at the best total cost while meeting quality and quantity requirements
  • Prepare and process purchase orders, solicit bid proposals, and review requisitions
  • Track shipments to ensure on?time delivery and resolve issues related to delays or shortages
  • Support procurement activities related to cost analysis, compliance, and supplier performance
  • Maintain accurate purchasing documentation and records
  • Utilize Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power BI for reporting, tracking, and data analysis
  • Collaborate with local buyers and global stakeholders across multiple regions

Team & Work Environment

  • Provides procurement support to two U.S.?based Global Category Buyers
  • Part of a worldwide procurement organization with team members located in North America, Europe, and Asia
  • Reports into a global manager overseeing a team of approximately eight professionals
  • Work environment is collaborative, flexible, and fast?paced, with a strong focus on results and teamwork

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 1–2 years of relevant experience (internships accepted)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret financial and pricing data
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Power BI
  • Understanding of purchasing processes, supply chain fundamentals, and applicable regulations

Preferred

  • Prior experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain roles
  • Experience working in a manufacturing or regulated environment
