Summary
This role supports forestry operations through GIS, mapping, and data services, playing a key role in improving work management processes and system transitions. The Technical Analyst II will partner with forestry, applications, and analytics teams to collect and manage operational data, support legacy systems, and help design and implement a new work management solution. This position requires strong technical problem?solving skills, experience with spatial data, and the ability to support both existing and emerging technologies.

Key Responsibilities

Provide GIS, mapping, and data services to support forestry operations and field activities.
Collect, manage, and maintain operational and spatial data to ensure accuracy, integrity, and accessibility.
Develop and support business processes, mapping applications, and technical tools that improve forestry work management.
Collaborate with forestry stakeholders and applications/analytics teams to design and implement a new work management solution.
Support existing software platforms during the transition from legacy systems to new technology solutions.
Evaluate current systems and contribute to transition and long?term sustainment plans for new platforms.
Serve as a cross?functional subject matter expert, troubleshooting complex technical issues and integrating data across systems.
Create and maintain reports, queries, and data integrations to support operational and decision?making needs.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Information Technology, Computer Science, Forestry, Environmental Science, or a related field, or equivalent hands?on experience.
Strong understanding of GIS, mapping tools, and spatial data management.
Experience with data collection, data governance, and workflow or process design.
Ability to analyze business needs and translate them into technical requirements and solutions.
Familiarity with work management systems, application development concepts, and system integrations.
Strong problem?solving and troubleshooting skills in complex technical environments.
Effective communication skills for working with cross?functional teams and end users.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of forestry operations or natural resource management.
Relevant certifications in GIS, data analytics, or project management.
Experience supporting both legacy systems and new technology implementations during transition periods.
