John Deere is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer I – Assembly to support Loader Cab assembly operations at the JD Davenport Works facility. This role is fully on?site and will work closely with cross?functional teams to support manufacturing processes, continuous improvement, and assembly operations.


What You’ll Do

  • Support and improve manufacturing and assembly processes for Loader Cab operations
  • Work with cross?functional teams to identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, delivery, and cost
  • Lead and manage small to moderate scope capital projects
  • Establish and maintain assembly layouts, labor standards, methods, and sequences of operations
  • Analyze, develop, and implement new manufacturing processes and technologies
  • Provide day?to?day support and troubleshooting for current assembly operations
  • Assist with feasibility testing of proposed engineering solutions and provide feedback to validate designs
  • Support inspections and evaluations of engineering work under the guidance of senior engineers
  • Identify gaps in existing processes and support change management initiatives
  • Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors as part of established contract management plans

What We’re Looking For

  • 1+ years of experience with manufacturing processes, quality, tooling, preventative maintenance, and facilities
  • Experience using engineering tools and manufacturing execution systems
  • Experience leading and implementing projects in a fast?paced manufacturing environment
  • Strong communication skills with operators, peers, and leadership
  • Self?motivated with the ability to execute work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work on?site in Davenport, IA

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or technology discipline or equivalent related work experience
    • Preferred disciplines: Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Electrical Engineering
