UI/UX Designer I
Location:
Onsite – Mossville (Chillicothe, IL)
5 days/week in office
Schedule:
Monday–Friday | 1st Shift (CST preferred)
Pay Rate:
$32 – $35 an hour (W2)
About the Role
As a UI/UX Designer I, you will partner closely with business analysts, project managers, product owners, architects, and IT teams to translate business and user requirements into thoughtful, usable designs. This role plays a key part in shaping end-to-end customer experiences across platforms and applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and understand business and user requirements
- Design user interface specifications using customer research, design standards, and industry best practices
- Advocate for user-centered design principles across projects and teams
- Participate in design reviews, aligning stakeholders and securing design approvals
- Execute business acceptance test cases and support usability testing
- Ensure usability deliverables align with project timelines, budgets, and technical constraints
- Contribute to the evolution of UX/CX methodologies, standards, workflows, and metrics
- Support the creation of UX artifacts such as personas, journey maps, storyboards, and service designs
- Partner with architects and product teams to drive consistent, unified digital experiences
- Stay current on emerging trends, tools, and best practices in experience design
Typical Day & Work Environment
- Work with business partners, product teams, vendors, dealers, and end customers
- Collaborate across multiple organizations, roles, and customer touchpoints
- Identify and solve complex experience challenges, including issues that may not be immediately visible
- Communicate design needs, trade-offs, and recommendations clearly to diverse stakeholders
- Onsite, team-oriented environment with frequent collaboration
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with 0–2 years of relevant experience
OR Associate’s degree with 2+ years of experience
OR High school diploma/GED with 4+ years of relevant experience - 0–2 years of UX/UI design experience
- Hands-on experience with Figma (1+ year required); exposure to Sketch or similar tools a plus
- Ability to design for complex digital environments and systems
- Comfortable working autonomously while partnering with product and engineering teams
- Strong communication skills and the ability to translate detailed requirements into complete user experiences
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience designing complex applications or systems
- Exposure to enterprise-scale platforms or multi-touchpoint user experiences
