Caterpillar is seeking a Mechanical Engineer 2 to support engineering activities within the Cat Technology organization at the Tucson Mining Center. This role focuses on researching, designing, and supporting the development, testing, and maintenance of mechanical products, equipment, and systems. The position is fully on?site and collaborates with engineering, drafting, and maintenance teams.
What You’ll Do
- Research, design, develop, manufacture, and test mechanical tools, engines, machines, and devices
- Analyze customer design proposals, specifications, and manuals to determine time and cost feasibility
- Investigate equipment failures and diagnose faulty operations
- Recommend solutions to maintenance teams
- Assist drafters in developing structural designs using engineering tools and software
- Create sketches, engineering drawings, and technical computations
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and computer?generated reports
