JOB SUMMARY FOR MARKETING ASSOCIATE:

 

This position will support all efforts around merchant referrals associated with international acceptance. The role will conduct research and fact-finding around merchants that have been identified by traveling cardholders to not accept the clients network products. They will assist in providing more information to client-facing support teams resulting in leads for acceptance enablement.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES FOR MARKETING ASSOCIATE:

 

  • Conduct research and fact-finding on merchants identified by traveling cardholders as not accepting Discover Network products.
  • Provide detailed insights to client-facing support teams to help generate leads for acceptance enablement.
  • Maintain accurate records of outreach and progress using Salesforce; familiarity with the platform is highly beneficial.
  • Assist in the development of marketing support materials for client-facing teams to use in engagement with acceptance partners.
  • Support proactive campaigns in the marketplace to identify and test merchants globally where acceptance gaps may exist.
  • Create and manage simulated complaints to test merchant acceptance and ensure follow-through on identified gaps.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure findings are actionable and lead to improved acceptance coverage.

 

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR MARKETING ASSOCIATE:

 

  • The role may also be asked to develop marketing support materials for client-facing teams to engage with acceptance partners.
  • Knowledge of Salesforce for entry and tracking of activities will be beneficial.

 

SKILLS PREFERED FOR MARKETING ASSOCIATE:

 

  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM tools preferred.
  • Experience with international markets and payment acceptance trends is a plus.
  • 5 years of data analysis and ad hoc reporting
