Job Title: Vehicle Propulsion Systems Calibration Engineer
Location: Dearborn, MI (Hybrid – minimum 4 days onsite/week)
Travel: Up to 8 weeks/year to test sites in Arizona, Colorado, and Northern Michigan
Work Hours: 08:00 AM to 04:30 PM
Pay Rate: $45 per hour
 
Overview:
Join a dynamic team focused on developing and delivering production-ready powertrain calibrations for internal combustion and hybrid electric vehicles. This role is ideal for engineers passionate about drivability, emissions, diagnostics, and performance in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
 
Responsibilities:

  • Develop calibrations that meet program requirements for drivability, emissions, fuel economy, diagnostics, and safety.
  • Design and execute testing protocols across lab, simulation, and in-vehicle environments.
  • Analyze and present vehicle data to validate calibration strategies.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues across powertrain systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and high-quality calibration delivery.

 
Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in engine or hybrid powertrain calibration (drivability, emissions, or OBD).
  • Proficiency in data acquisition and analysis tools.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel for environmental testing (hot, cold, altitude).

 
Preferred:

  • 5+ years of calibration experience in hybrid or internal combustion systems.

 
Additional Info: This is a hybrid role requiring a minimum of 4 days onsite per week. Testing may occur on public roads, in labs, and through simulation models.
