Job Description:
This Manufacturing Engineer role supports production and engineering projects in a manufacturing environment by developing and updating technical layouts, optimizing production processes, and implementing manufacturing equipment and tooling. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with line balancing, process setup, AutoCAD (2D/3D), and manufacturing engineering methodologies such as PFMEA, process mapping, and standard work. Automotive or truck manufacturing experience is preferred, along with an engineering degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and update 2D and 3D AutoCAD layouts, drawings, and manufacturing floor plans.
- Support manufacturing process design, line balancing, process mapping, PFMEA, and standard work development.
- Coordinate installation and implementation of manufacturing tooling, equipment, and production systems.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and cross-functional teams to review designs and project requirements.
- Create and maintain technical drawings that support engineering and production initiatives.
- Analyze design sketches, specifications, and measurements to ensure accurate layouts and documentation.
- Manage purchase orders and follow up on tooling and equipment procurement activities.
- Support prototype and pilot build activities, including equipment setup and production readiness.
- Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary project reviews with internal departments and stakeholders.
- Track project issues and action items through problem follow-up sheets to ensure timely completion.
- Perform manufacturing floor measurements and develop layouts to support facility and process improvements.
- Utilize Microsoft Office tools to perform data analysis and prepare presentations for leadership.
- Ensure all drawings, processes, and installations comply with engineering standards and specifications.
- Support overtime and weekend project activities as required to meet production and project deadlines.
