Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Engineering IV professional with strong experience in payments testing, EMV certification, transaction processing, and payment system validation to support critical payment processing initiatives within a leading financial technology organization.
This role will focus on validating complex payment transaction flows, supporting EMV certification efforts, analyzing transaction and simulator logs, and ensuring compliance with card network requirements.
The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of payment processing platforms, certification testing, and transaction messaging standards while thriving in a fast-paced Agile environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts for payment applications and transaction processing systems.
- Support EMV Level 3 (L3) Certification activities and ensure successful card-network certification readiness.
- Perform end-to-end testing of:
- Credit card transactions
- Debit card transactions
- Gift card transactions
- EBT transactions
- Capture, validate, and analyze host logs, transaction traces, and simulator logs to diagnose defects and support certification submissions.
- Validate transaction processing utilizing ISO 8583 messaging standards and payment network specifications.
- Support testing activities involving POS devices, payment terminals, and card-processing environments.
- Conduct API validation and backend testing using tools such as Postman and SQL queries.
- Partner with Product Owners, Developers, Business Analysts, and Certification Teams to resolve issues and improve test coverage.
- Perform defect tracking, root-cause analysis, and test reporting using Jira and related QA management tools.
- Support production validation, certification testing, and release readiness efforts.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across payment testing and certification processes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of Quality Assurance experience in payments, banking, financial services, or transaction-processing environments.
- Hands-on experience with EMV Level 3 Certification and payment certification processes.
- Strong understanding of Base24 systems and payment transaction processing.
- Experience working with ISO 8583 transaction messaging standards.
- Experience testing:
- Credit card transactions
- Debit card transactions
- Gift cards
- EBT transactions
- Experience analyzing host logs, simulator logs, and transaction traces.
- Experience with API testing and validation using Postman or similar tools.
- Experience with Jira and defect lifecycle management.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with PTS (PIN Transaction Security) specifications and PTS Mainframe environments.
- Working knowledge of FIME BTT, UL Brand Test Tool (ULBTT), Collis, ICC Simulator, or other certification tools.
- Experience with Splunk for log analysis and transaction troubleshooting.
- Experience with JMeter for performance and functional testing.
- Basic programming knowledge in Java and/or scripting languages.
- Experience supporting payment terminals, POS systems, and acquiring platforms.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and enterprise-scale testing programs.
- Experience supporting Visa, Mastercard, Discover, or American Express certification initiatives.
