Location: Augusta, ME
Work Arrangement: 100% Onsite for the first 6 months, then eligible for a hybrid schedule (up to 2 remote days per week)
Employment Type: W2 Contract
Compensation: $35-37 per hour 

Position Overview

Epitec is seeking a detail-oriented Product Specialist to support a mission-critical application used for the collection, registration, and issuance of vital records throughout the State of Maine. This role is responsible for application testing, product support, documentation management, and collaboration with vendors and technical teams to ensure high-quality software releases.
The ideal candidate will have experience with User Acceptance Testing (UAT), defect tracking, troubleshooting application issues, and maintaining detailed documentation. This position plays a key role in evaluating software enhancements, identifying defects, and helping ensure the application meets business and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Execute User Acceptance Testing (UAT) using established test scripts and procedures.
  • Validate application functionality for software upgrades and new releases.
  • Document testing results and maintain records within SharePoint.
  • Identify, track, and communicate defects through Jira.
  • Analyze and evaluate software functionality against business requirements.
  • Make recommendations regarding functional and technical product improvements.
  • Participate in product reviews to ensure quality standards and requirements are met.
  • Assess the impact of system enhancements and production fixes.
  • Serve as a liaison between business stakeholders, vendors, and technical teams.
  • Provide basic application support and timely resolution of user inquiries.
  • Accurately assess and prioritize defects based on severity and business impact.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of testing efforts, enhancements, and support activities.
  • Communicate project status updates, testing findings, and future product needs.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience performing User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  • Experience using Jira or a similar ticketing platform.
  • Experience with SharePoint documentation and collaboration tools.
  • Ability to troubleshoot basic system and application issues.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting software release cycles.
  • Experience documenting defects and enhancement requests.
  • Familiarity with quality assurance processes and testing methodologies.
  • Experience working with external vendors and cross-functional teams.
