Project Engineer
We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to support supply chain and continuous improvement initiatives within a global manufacturing environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional with a background in engineering, supply chain, operations, or project management who enjoys working cross-functionally to drive process improvements and deliver results.
Location: East Peoria, IL
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 40 hours/week
Pay: $54 – $56 an hr
Duration: 12+ Month Contract
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary liaison between continuous product improvement (CPI) projects and global supply chain teams.
- Coordinate component phase-in and phase-out activities across multiple facilities while minimizing scrap and rework.
- Partner with engineering, purchasing, manufacturing, quality, operations, and supply chain teams to manage project implementation.
- Monitor and communicate project effectivity dates, inventory impacts, and supply chain risks.
- Manage service inventory requirements and collaborate with stakeholders to resolve supply-related issues.
- Create and maintain reports, dashboards, and visualizations to support project execution and decision-making.
- Act as a subject matter expert on supply chain best practices and drive process improvement initiatives.
- Support part stocking requests, inventory planning, and product support activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 3-5+ years of professional experience in engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, operations, or project management.
- Strong understanding of supply chain concepts, terminology, and business processes.
- Excellent project management, communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple functions and stakeholders.
- Strong computer skills with experience creating reports and analyzing data.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with engineering, product development, manufacturing, quality, purchasing, or operations teams.
- Ability to perform quality analysis and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Proven ability to manage ambiguity, assess risk, and drive change across an organization.
- Customer-focused mindset with strong relationship-building skills.
