Quality Engineer II

Position Overview
We are seeking a Quality Engineer II to support quality planning, process improvement, and quality assurance activities across product development, manufacturing, supply chain, and distribution operations. This role is responsible for applying quality engineering principles, problem-solving methodologies, and continuous improvement practices to ensure products and processes consistently meet customer expectations, regulatory requirements, and organizational quality standards.
The ideal candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive quality improvements, support product and process development initiatives, work with suppliers, and implement quality tools throughout the product lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Support quality planning, control, and continuous improvement initiatives across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and distribution operations.
- Analyze manufacturing and material processes and contribute to the development of efficient, cost-effective, and quality-focused production systems.
- Assist in designing and implementing engineering solutions, including feasibility testing, validation activities, and process improvements.
- Develop, review, and support engineering standards, specifications, and quality requirements.
- Conduct inspections and evaluations of engineering processes, equipment, systems, and installations to ensure compliance with quality and regulatory standards.
- Provide recommendations for corrective and preventive actions to address quality issues and improve overall performance.
- Coordinate activities with suppliers, contractors, and external partners while serving as a key point of contact for quality-related matters.
- Support supplier quality initiatives and collaborate with suppliers to improve product and process performance.
- Utilize quality tools and methodologies to identify root causes, reduce defects, and improve operational efficiency.
- Identify gaps in existing processes, systems, and procedures and assist with implementing corrective actions and change management initiatives.
- Support product development activities by analyzing customer requirements and translating them into quality-focused solutions.
- Participate in cross-functional project teams and contribute to meeting project schedules, quality objectives, and business goals.
- Promote knowledge sharing and assist team members in effectively utilizing quality systems, tools, and best practices.
- Maintain awareness of emerging technologies, industry standards, regulatory requirements, and quality engineering best practices.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Quality Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience supporting quality engineering, manufacturing engineering, product development, or process improvement initiatives.
- Knowledge of quality systems, quality assurance principles, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Experience analyzing manufacturing processes and implementing quality improvements.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and root-cause investigation skills.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, standards, and technical documentation.
- Experience working in cross-functional environments with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and supplier teams.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting project deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with quality tools such as FMEA, Control Plans, Statistical Process Control (SPC), Root Cause Analysis, 8D, CAPA, and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Experience supporting supplier quality management and supplier development activities.
- Knowledge of product development and manufacturing quality processes.
- Familiarity with quality audits, inspection procedures, and compliance requirements.
- Experience with project management and change management initiatives.
- Professional quality certifications such as ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Six Sigma Green Belt, or similar credentials.
