Diversity is central to Epitec’s business philosophy of placing people first. As a platform for connecting people to career opportunities with Fortune 1000 customers, we believe that diverse teams drive innovation and bring unique perspectives. Throughout our 45-year history, we have emerged as a consistent champion for diversity, both internally as a diverse-owned business and externally with our customers, clients, partners, and the community at large.
We take a hands-on approach to supporting diverse populations by engaging with organizations and networks that provide resources and opportunities for underrepresented minorities.
All employees have access to the leading global behavioral and mental health platform supporting individuals in the workplace and at home. This digital, on-demand resource empowers employees across their parenting, personal and professional needs.
We engage with leaders at diverse-owned companies in support of their growth. We mentor and help these companies develop a diverse workforce through recruitment practices, provide insight on business processes and tools, and connect them to external partners.
Epitec plays an active role in the community and focuses its resources partnering with organizations that support youth, advancing women in technology, and ending food and housing insecurity. Senior company leaders serve on boards, provide mentorship, and intentionally engage with others to further support these causes.
In 2019 Epitec supported Cass Community Social Services and their groundbreaking Tiny Homes project by enlisting Epitec’s corporate team to creatively raise funds for the project. Working together, we raised $240,000, making possible the construction of six Tiny Homes in Detroit, providing an avenue to homeownership for six Detroiters experiencing housing insecurity.
In December 2020, Epitec partnered with an apparel brand to deliver 1,000 pairs of socks to Cass Community Social Services, a Detroit-based organization that serves individuals experiencing homelessness.
Epitec is a longtime supporter of Vista Maria, a Dearborn-based nonprofit that supports vulnerable and at-risk youth. Each year our team purchases holiday gifts for young women and girls living in Shepherd Hall, a home for at-risk youth that does not get federal or state funding. We also provide recruitment training and resources.
We work with Forgotten Harvest to help end food insecurity in our local community. In 2022 our team volunteered in their new warehouse and packed 8,780 pounds of broccoli – over 3,500 pounds more than the previous team record.
We support and partner with organizations such as the Michigan Council of Women in Technology which has a growing presence across the state of Michigan. MCWT is dedicated to building a thriving and diverse IT talent pool and looks to make Michigan the No. 1 state for women in technology.
