Job Title: Retail Operations & Merchandising Manager

Summary
The Retail Operations & Merchandising Manager plays a critical role in executing Samsung’s retail channel strategy by partnering closely with carrier partners and cross-functional teams to optimize retail operations, merchandising execution, and customer experience. This individual will drive operational excellence, influence strategic planning, and ensure retail programs, processes, and tools effectively support business objectives.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and manage merchandising and display device expenditures against allocated budgets.
- Oversee contractual retail obligations and ensure compliance with partner agreements.
- Lead space planning and planogram development with carrier partners.
- Coordinate launch planning, timelines, and execution across carriers, vendors, and internal teams.
- Manage security partner relationships, funding approvals, and related initiatives.
- Execute mystery shopping programs to evaluate planogram compliance, brand visibility, and retail execution.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on shipping strategies and partner distribution models.
- Coordinate the timing and execution of retail merchandising resets.
- Align Samsung retail strategies with carrier partner distribution models and retail objectives.
- Manage field insight collection and communication to drive continuous improvement.
- Partner with carrier cross-functional teams to ensure retail tools, resources, and operational processes function effectively.
- Contribute to annual business planning initiatives, operational roadmaps, and process improvement efforts supporting both short- and long-term business goals.
- Work directly with local and national retail account teams to establish operational standards and measure execution effectiveness.
- Communicate complex concepts clearly and effectively to diverse audiences across the organization.
- Collaborate with executive leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to enhance Samsung’s retail experience and operational capabilities.
- Advocate for process simplification, scalability, and efficiency to improve team effectiveness and customer outcomes.
- Deliver concise, actionable insights and updates to retail leadership in a rapidly changing business environment.
- Assess operational market opportunities across channels, geographies, and service levels to support sales growth, go-to-market strategies, team performance, and product enhancements.
- Drive business cadence activities, including planning, budgeting, business reviews, performance tracking, accountability, and visibility against strategic objectives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant retail operations, merchandising, or retail account management experience.
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple accounts, operational initiatives, and cross-functional projects.
- Proven ability to lead projects in a large, dynamic environment while driving end-to-end planning and execution.
- Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence across teams.
- Experience developing processes, performance metrics, and operational measurement frameworks.
- Knowledge of retail development, store systems, and merchandising equipment preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, organizational, and time management skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving consumer-focused environment and make sound business decisions.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify opportunities and recommend operational improvements.
- Willingness to travel approximately 15%-25%.
