Verification & Validation Engineer

As a member of The Client’s Acute Therapies Verification and Validation (V&V) engineering team, you will support product verification, validation, and compliance testing for electrical and mechanical medical device components and systems. Your expertise will span all stages of product development—from prototypes to final system design—through test method development, execution, validation, and documentation. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, Project Management, Quality, and Manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute verification test methods, protocols, and reports for component and system requirements (under supervision).
- Drive quality into product development through analysis, testing, and timely feedback.
- Design test cases including methodology, setups, materials, equipment, procedures, and acceptance criteria.
- Perform functional testing of mechanical assemblies, electrical circuits, and systems.
- Support hardware development, feasibility studies, pre-compliance, and change activities by collecting and analyzing test data.
- Design hardware/software tools and fixtures for test execution and data analysis (under supervision).
- Review and understand electrical/mechanical designs to ensure requirement coverage.
- Interpret medical compliance standards, evaluate risk, and develop test procedures.
- Execute hands-on testing in lab and third-party medical device test labs; report defects and failures.
- Conduct feasibility and characterization testing (under supervision).
- Analyze test data against acceptance criteria and document results in platforms like ALM.
- Collaborate with system teams to improve requirement understanding and test effectiveness.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of test scenarios and cases.
- Maintain lab equipment and inventory.
- Perform troubleshooting, rework, and calibration of electromechanical systems.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 1+ years of experience.
- Experience in electromechanical V&V testing, including plans, procedures, reports, and test methods (preferred).
- Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
- Solid understanding of electrical and mechanical engineering disciplines; ability to read schematics and mechanical drawings.
- Proficiency with lab equipment: oscilloscope, DMM, power supply, force/pressure gauge, caliper, thermometer, flow meter, scales.
- Hands-on approach to testing and fault diagnosis.
- Strong documentation and record-keeping skills.
- Effective collaboration across disciplines and project teams.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with broad responsibilities.
