Production Systems Engineer
Job Type: W2, 2-year Contract

Work Hours: 1st Shift – 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
- Minimal overtime expected
Pay Rate: $32 – $34 per hour

Position Overview:
The Production Systems Engineer will be responsible for the build, integration, and testing of electro-mechanical assemblies for drone-based agricultural sensors (e.g., cameras, gimbals). This role requires hands-on experience in electromechanical systems, strong organizational skills, and attention to detail. The engineer will support production planning, defect elimination, and process/product improvement in collaboration with engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical build assembly.
- Production design updates, design for manufacturing.
- Develop and provide external documentation to 3rd party manufacturer
- Work with electrical hardware designers to specify size/shape, connectorization, indicators, and user inputs to circuit card assemblies.
- Wired assembly integration / box build.
- Fault / debug.
- CCA programming.
- System checkout & test.
- Optical assembly, alignment, and focusing.
- Support production schedule planning.
- Flight testing.
- Document checkout test results.
- Ensure delivery of defect-free product.
- Ensure sufficient material supply to support production.
- Perform diagnostic analysis and repair of damaged equipment.
- Perform fault investigation/resolution of products.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Mechanics
- Minimum 1 year experience with PTC Creo
- Part 107 drone certification (within 3 months of hire)
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Ability to interpret requirements independently
- Team-oriented and highly motivated
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to scope efforts and meet deadlines
Additional Role Details:
- Facilitate change management for documentation
- Serve as point of contact for contract manufacturer
- Implement and review QA processes
- Prioritize production assembly builds for customer orders
Work Environment:
- Approximately 75% of time spent on feet
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
Travel:
- May require travel within a 30-mile radius using a personal vehicle
