This past month, the Epitec team had a fantastic time at the annual Forgotten Harvest Women’s Lunch. Learning more about the Forgotten Harvest community and their efforts to combat the widespread problems of hunger and food insecurity that many communities face today was a terrific experience.
The Forgotten Harvest organization fights hunger and food security issues prominent in many communities today. The group gathers excess food from nearby supermarkets and other vendors to be sorted and given to those in need. Five days a week, they donate 144,000 pounds of excess food to nearby charities, giving those in need free access to fresh food.
Throughout the event, we connected with inspiring women passionate about strengthening our community in Metro Detroit. Lunch was arranged so businesses could create distinctive table designs that complemented the themes of the tables, each with its theme. This year, “Apple Harvest and Diamonds in the Rough” served as the subject for Epitec, showcased in the photos below.
