Accommodation Specialist
Job Type: W2, 12-Month Contract
Job Location: Remote
Pay Rate: $28 – $30 per hour
Position Summary
This position serves as the first point of contact for employees requesting job accommodations related to a qualifying disability that may limit their ability to perform essential job functions. The role involves assessing and triaging accommodation requests of simple to moderately complex scope, providing guidance to employees, and ensuring a frustration-free experience.
The ideal candidate will have exceptional communication and organizational skills, superior attention to detail, the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment, strong analytical and critical thinking skills, and a customer service focus aligned with the client’s values.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
Respond to Accommodation Requests

Under general supervision, respond to new accommodation requests and customer service needs within required time frames.

Generate and provide “Request for Accommodation” application forms and required notices for basic and moderately complex cases.

Assess preliminary information to determine potential existence of a qualifying disability and consult with Disability Management Resources staff as needed.

Help evaluate return-to-work feasibility and provide customers with an overview of the accommodation process, roles, responsibilities, and timelines.
Case Management & Customer Guidance

Participate in an interdisciplinary team approach to assist customers facing decisions about employee separation or leave as an accommodation.

Provide prognosis for return-to-work and make accommodation suggestions following established guidelines.

Create and maintain accurate, timely, and compliant case records in the client’s case management system.

Track all accommodation requests.
Collaboration & Issue Escalation

Collaborate with medical, return-to-work, legal, and absence management personnel as needed.

Escalate moderate and complex issues and cases.

Maintain proficient understanding of all applicable company information systems.
