Role: Agile Scrum Master
Location: Hybrid – must be local to Chicago; expected in office twice a week
Contract: Opportunity for extensions
Compensation: $60–$70/hr with benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k)
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and support multiple Agile Scrum Teams on complex initiatives.
- Facilitate Scrum ceremonies and ensure adherence to Scrum values.
- Identify and resolve delivery impediments; escalate when necessary.
- Manage risks and issues, foster continuous improvement, and drive team maturity.
- Serve as an Agile subject matter expert and mentor.
- Support Product Owner in backlog management and prioritization.
- Build strong team environments and manage conflict resolution.
- Promote transparency around delivery progress, quality, and schedule.
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
- Prior experience as a Scrum Master using Agile Scrum methodology.
- Strong servant-leader mindset with coaching and mentoring skills.
- Experience delivering modern enterprise software using Agile.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Jira and Jira Align:
- Connect strategy to execution.
- Manage program-level backlogs.
- Visualize dependencies across Agile Release Trains (ARTs).
- Configure dashboards, OKRs, and lean metrics.
- AI & Tooling Awareness:
- Familiarity with AI-enhanced platforms (Jira Automation, Rovo, GitHub Copilot, Lucid AI, Microsoft Copilot).
- Ability to interpret AI-generated insights and coach teams on AI-driven practices.
Education & Experience
- Scrum Master Certification (CSM) preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 4 years of related work experience in enterprise IT with Agile delivery.
- Previous project management experience preferred.
