Job Title: Complex Claims Consultant III (D&O / Financial Institutions E&O)
Location: Remote (U.S.)
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 40 hours/week
Duration: Contract with potential for extension
Pay Rate: $50-$55/hour


Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Complex Claims Consultant III to manage high-exposure Public D&O and Financial Institutions E&O claims. This role involves handling complex, multi-year claims with significant financial impact, requiring strong expertise in coverage analysis, litigation management, and resolution strategy execution.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of complex D&O and E&O claims from inception through resolution
  • Analyze and interpret policy language to determine coverage and liability
  • Conduct thorough investigations, gather relevant documentation, and evaluate claim exposure
  • Establish and maintain appropriate reserves based on claim evaluation and ongoing developments
  • Develop and execute strategic claim resolution plans, including settlement negotiations and litigation oversight
  • Partner with internal stakeholders, external counsel, and third-party experts to drive claim outcomes
  • Oversee and manage claim budgets, including legal and expert expenses
  • Identify subrogation opportunities and potential fraud issues, escalating as needed
  • Maintain accurate and timely claim documentation in accordance with company guidelines
  • Prepare and present complex claim updates to senior leadership and key stakeholders

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience handling complex D&O and/or Financial Institutions E&O claims
  • Strong expertise in policy interpretation, coverage analysis, and litigation management
  • Experience managing large-loss, high-exposure claims
  • Proven ability to lead negotiations and drive claim resolution strategies
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) preferred
  • Professional designations such as CPCU or similar
  • Experience collaborating with multiple carriers and managing outside counsel
