Customer Order Management Representative

Location: Nashville, TN
Work Arrangement: Hybrid (3 Days Onsite / 2 Days Remote)
Schedule: Monday-Friday | 7:00 AM-4:00 PM or 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
Duration: 1 Year W2 Contract
Compensation: $22 – $24/hr 

Role Summary

A leading global manufacturer is seeking a Customer Order Management Representative to join its customer support and supply chain operations team in Nashville, Tennessee.

This position serves as the primary point of contact for assigned customer accounts, managing the entire order lifecycle from order entry through fulfillment while ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.

This is not a call center role. The ideal candidate will work closely with customers, manufacturing facilities, distribution centers, logistics partners, and internal teams to monitor orders, resolve issues, and ensure timely delivery.

Candidates with customer service experience, supply chain knowledge, Excel proficiency, and experience supporting credit/debit transactions will be well positioned for success.

This hybrid role requires onsite attendance three days per week, including Monday and Tuesday, with the third onsite day determined by business needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the single point of contact for assigned customer accounts throughout the entire order lifecycle.
  • Manage customer orders from account setup, order entry, modifications, and fulfillment through delivery.
  • Monitor order status and proactively communicate updates, delays, and resolutions to customers.
  • Coordinate with distribution centers, manufacturing plants, logistics teams, and internal departments to ensure on-time shipment.
  • Research and resolve complex customer inquiries through detailed analysis of processes, systems, and order data.
  • Escalate customer issues when necessary and document resolution activities in company systems.
  • Maintain accurate customer interaction records and order documentation.
  • Support credit and debit processes while adhering to SOX controls and company policies.
  • Prepare and distribute standard and customized customer and internal reports.
  • Ensure compliance with export requirements and shipping documentation regulations.
  • Partner with quality teams to address customer quality concerns and non-conformance claims.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives focused on customer experience and operational efficiency.
  • Support customer visits and build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in customer service, customer support, order management, supply chain, logistics, or a related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience managing customer accounts or customer-facing business processes.
  • Basic to intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience handling multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Experience supporting credit/debit transactions and SOX-related processes.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and within cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in customer order management, supply chain, logistics, manufacturing, or distribution environments.
  • Knowledge of ERP, CRM, or order management systems.
  • Experience with export compliance and shipping documentation.
  • Knowledge of Quality Management Systems.
  • Experience handling customer escalations and issue resolution.
  • Participation in continuous improvement or process improvement initiatives.
