Position: Engineering Project Manager
JOB TYPE: W2, Hybrid, Full-time contract (12 months)
Location: Phoenix, AZ
Compensation: $50 – $52/hr
Job Summary:
We are seeking a Project Manager with an engineering background to lead customer-focused technical projects from initiation through completion.
This role is responsible for project planning, scheduling, budgeting, resource coordination, risk management, and stakeholder communication while serving as a primary point of contact for customers, contractors, vendors, and internal teams.
The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated project leader with strong communication skills, an engineering mindset, and the ability to manage multiple projects while building strong customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage multiple Power Generation customer projects simultaneously from planning through completion
• Coordinate daily with customers, contractors, vendors, and internal teams
• Develop project plans, schedules, budgets, and timelines
• Manage project scope, risks, issues, dependencies, and escalations
• Monitor project progress and communicate status updates to stakeholders
• Support major generator deliveries and commissioning activities
• Assign resources and coordinate project execution efforts
• Maintain project documentation, databases, and records
• Collaborate with sales, engineering, purchasing, and operations teams
• Resolve customer issues and build long-term customer relationships
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and share project learnings across teams
• Travel to customer sites as needed (up to 25%)
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree required
• 3–8+ years of project management experience with leadership responsibilities
• Experience managing projects from planning through execution and closeout
• Strong customer-facing communication and relationship management skills
• Experience managing project scope, budgets, schedules, resources, risks, and issues
• Strong stakeholder management and conflict resolution skills
• Experience coordinating cross-functional teams
• Ability to work independently and manage a territory or book of business
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
• Ability to travel up to 25% for customer site visits and project support
• Ability to work in a hybrid environment in the Phoenix, AZ area
Preferred Qualifications:
• Power Generation (PowerGen) industry experience
• Engineering degree or technical project management background
• Experience working within electrical, industrial equipment, construction, utility, or energy industries
• Salesforce experience
• BMS experience
• QuickServe familiarity
• CAD experience (Creo or AutoCAD)
• PMP certification or similar project management credential
• Generator commissioning experience
• Experience supporting customer-facing technical projects
• Strong presentation and communication skills across all organizational levels
