Continuous Improvement Leader
Location: Southeast, MI (Lansing OR Detroit)
Type: Full-Time | Hybrid
Salary: Up to 130k with up to 8% annual merit bonus
Travel: up to 40%

The Role

We are seeking a strategic and hands?on Continuous Improvement Leader to drive enterprise?wide operational excellence. This role is ideal for a forward?thinking CI professional who excels at leading high?impact Kaizen events and is motivated to expand into broader operational leadership, with a long?term path toward Plant Operations Management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead high?impact Kaizen events delivering measurable improvements in productivity, quality, cost, and operational performance
  • Develop and coach employees at all levels in Lean and Continuous Improvement methodologies
  • Build and execute 30/60/90?day sustainment plans to ensure improvements are embedded long?term
  • Partner with plant and organizational leadership to prioritize and execute CI initiatives aligned with business objectives
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in Lean tools, including:
    • Daily Management Systems
    • 6S
    • Value Stream Mapping (VSM)
    • Total Process Improvement (TPI)
    • Structured Problem Solving (A3, 8D, DMAIC)
    • Gemba Walks, Flow, and Kanban systems
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement through audits, engagement, and disciplined follow?through

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field (MBA preferred)
  • 8+ years of experience leading Kaizen events and CI initiatives with measurable results
  • 7+ years of experience in manufacturing or assembly environments
  • Expert?level knowledge of Lean tools and structured problem?solving methodologies
  • Strong coaching, facilitation, and communication skills with the ability to influence across all levels
  • Proven ability to sustain improvements through disciplined follow?up and accountability
