Senior Data Architect
Location: Dearborn, MI
Schedule: Hybrid – 4 days Onsite
Pay Rate: Up to $81.33/hour, depending on experience and chosen benefits

Overview
Employees in this role are responsible for designing, building, and maintaining reliable, efficient, and scalable data architecture and data models that serve as the foundation for all data solutions. This position requires close collaboration with senior leadership and IT teams to ensure alignment of data strategy with overall business goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Align data strategy to business goals to support business strategy, improved decision-making, operational efficiency, and risk management.
  • Ensure data assets are available, consumable, and secure for end users across enterprise applications, platforms, and infrastructure within enterprise and security architecture standards.
  • Design and build reliable, efficient, and scalable data architecture for organizational data solutions.
  • Implement and maintain scalable architectural data patterns, solutions, and tooling to support business strategy.
  • Design, build, and launch shared data services and APIs to expose data-driven solutions in line with enterprise architecture standards.
  • Research and optimize data architecture technologies to enhance and support enterprise technology and data strategy.
  • Additional Responsibilities:
    • Develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models for BI, analytics, and reporting solutions.
    • Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to gather and interpret requirements for new data initiatives.
    • Integrate data from multiple sources ensuring consistency and reliability.
    • Design and optimize database schemas using medallion architecture (relational, star schema, denormalized sets).
    • Partner with data governance teams for metadata management and lineage documentation.
    • Establish master data management practices for a single version of truth.
    • Communicate effectively between technical teams and business units.
    • Monitor and optimize data models for performance and scalability.
    • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies.

Experience Required

  • 10+ years in IT
  • 7+ years in data architecture or related concentration

Experience Preferred:

  • Ability to present technical material to business users.
  • Strategic visioning and identifying synergies across systems.
  • Experience acting as the voice of architecture/data model and defending its relevancy.

Education

  • Required: Bachelor’s Degree
  • Preferred: Advanced degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related field
