About the Opportunity
Epitec is seeking a highly collaborative and business-focused Senior Data Engineer / Data Analyst to help transform connected vehicle data into actionable insights that drive engineering decisions, product improvements, and business outcomes.
This role is ideal for a data professional who understands how telemetry data is generated, collected, and interpreted within connected vehicle environments. You will work closely with engineers, product owners, and business stakeholders to develop scalable data solutions that improve customer experience and support data-driven decision making.
Key Responsibilities
Business & Domain Partnership
- Partner with embedded vehicle engineers, product owners, and technical product managers to understand data instrumentation and signal interpretation.
- Translate complex and loosely defined business problems into scalable analytics and data engineering solutions.
- Apply statistical techniques including hypothesis testing, correlation analysis, and regression modeling to validate assumptions and quantify business impacts.
- Serve as a bridge between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders by translating data findings into meaningful business insights.
Data Engineering & Analytics
- Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines supporting structured and semi-structured datasets.
- Develop analytical models and perform advanced data analysis using SQL, Python, and related technologies.
- Conduct trend analysis, anomaly detection, and vehicle behavior analytics.
- Apply regression, time-series analysis, and multivariate analysis to uncover drivers of system performance and customer experience.
- Develop ETL/ELT workflows across diverse data sources and ingestion methods, including API-based integrations.
Data Quality & Validation
- Investigate and validate upstream data quality before analytical model development.
- Perform root-cause analysis of data inconsistencies and signal instrumentation issues.
- Create monitoring and validation frameworks that ensure data accuracy and reliability.
- Collaborate with system owners to resolve data lineage, mapping, and governance concerns.
Reporting & Visualization
- Develop executive-ready dashboards and visualizations using tools such as Power BI, Looker Studio, or similar platforms.
- Present analytical findings to business stakeholders, leadership teams, and technical audiences.
- Communicate complex technical concepts in a clear, business-focused manner.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of professional experience in data engineering, analytics, or related disciplines.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with:
- SQL
- Python
- Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

- Data Analytics and Data Science
- Experience working with large-scale telemetry, IoT, or vehicle-generated data.
- Strong understanding of statistical analysis techniques and predictive modeling.
- Experience building and maintaining production-grade data pipelines.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Experience
- Connected vehicle, automotive, IoT, or telemetry data environments.
- Advanced dashboard development and data storytelling.
- Experience working directly with engineering and product teams.
