Pay Rate: $54.00 – 56.40/hr. with benefit inclusions

Job Summary
We are seeking a Design Engineer to support the design and development of steering arms and linkages for Large Mining Trucks, specifically focusing on Rigid Frame Electric Drive trucks. This role involves collaboration with product and operations teams to address quality improvements and increased product demand. The engineer will lead on-site factory design and development efforts related to new product introduction and design for manufacturing projects, with responsibilities including factory and supplier collaboration, BIQ deployment, and CPI support for heavy fabrications.

Responsibilities

  • Lead design efforts for steering linkages, front and rear axles, and casting development for Large Mining Trucks.
  • Support resolution of day-to-day product manufacturing issues and continuous product improvement.
  • Participate in design and manufacturing meetings, perform 3D modeling and basic FEA as needed.
  • Review and mark-up drawings for corrections and improvements.
  • Collaborate with internal and external customers, peers, and technical leaders to understand project requirements.
  • Provide support for heavy fabrications at manufacturing facilities.

Years of Experience and Education

  • Years of Experience: Minimum 8 years of relevant experience.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Agricultural, or Civil Engineering.
  • Internship Experience: Internships are accepted as job experience.

  • CAD proficiency (Creo, Solidworks or equivalent)
  • Basic knowledge of welding processes

  • Strong communication skills (reading, verbal, written)

Technical Skills (Desired)

  • Experience with Creo Simulate, Ansys, Nastran or similar FEA tools
