JOB SUMMARY FOR DEV RESEARCH ENGINEER LEVEL 2:
Seeking a Development/Research Engineer to support component fatigue testing and bolted joint R&D. This role involves planning and executing mechanical tests, designing custom fixtures, performing FEA analysis, and collaborating with technicians and internal customers. The ideal candidate will have mechanical engineering experience, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work in both office and lab environments with high-pressure hydraulic systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES FOR DEV RESEARCH ENGINEER LEVEL 2:
- Research, design, develop, and test mechanical components and systems.
- Plan and execute component fatigue and bolted joint testing.
- Perform FEA analysis and interpret strain/stress data.
- Collaborate with technicians for test setups and ensure safety in lab environments.
- Investigate equipment failures and recommend corrective actions.
- Assist in developing structural designs using CAD tools (Pro/E preferred).
- Analyze customer design proposals and specifications for feasibility.
- Capture and analyze test data for reporting and recommendations.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE FOR DEV RESEARCH ENGINEER LEVEL 2:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline).
- Minimum 2 years of mechanical engineering experience (internships/co-ops considered).
- Experience with design and analysis work.
- Familiarity with fatigue testing and hydraulics-based systems preferred.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS FOR DEV RESEARCH ENGINEER LEVEL 2:
Top 3 Technical Skills:
- Custom fixture design (Pro/E or similar CAD experience).
- FEA capabilities.
- Ability to analyze strain and stress data from tests.
Additional Technical Skills:
- Familiarity with MTS testing systems and control software (preferred).
- Experience with hydraulics-based fatigue testing (preferred).
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Previous experience with CAD and engineering software.
Soft Skills:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Team player with collaborative mindset.
- Detail-oriented and curious, willing to learn and ask questions.
DISQUALIFIERS / RED FLAGS:
- No mechanical or fatigue testing experience.
- Lack of design and analysis background.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in automotive or component test labs.
- Familiarity with hydraulics-based fatigue testing and MTS systems.
- Graduate-level research experience in mechanical or fatigue testing.
INTERVIEW PROCESS:

- Round 2 (On-site): Facility tour and hands-on discussion.
