We are seeking a hands-on Development / Research Engineer to lead hydraulic testing projects from planning through conclusion in a dynamic engineering environment. This position offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge hydraulic and fluid power technologies while collaborating with engineers, lab personnel, and internal stakeholders on innovative product development initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Lead hydraulic component and system testing projects from setup through final analysis and reporting.
- Plan, execute, and document mechanical and hydraulic testing activities.
- Analyze test data and provide conclusions and recommendations.
- Research, design, develop, manufacture, and test mechanical systems, equipment, and components.
- Investigate equipment failures and diagnose mechanical issues.
- Review specifications, design proposals, and technical documentation to determine project feasibility.
- Support product development efforts by assisting with engineering drawings, designs, and technical documentation.
- Collaborate closely with lab managers, test leads, shop personnel, and engineering teams.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related technical field.
- 5+ years of engineering experience (3+ years with a Master’s degree).
- Strong hands-on mechanical experience.
- Experience with data analysis and failure analysis.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Organized, customer-focused, and able to work effectively with both engineers and shop personnel.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with hydraulics, fluid power systems, or component testing.
- Test development and validation experience.
- CAD software experience.
- Project management experience.
- Mechanical and/or electrical troubleshooting expertise.
