Job Title: Technical Service Consultant (Diesel / Dealer Support)

Location: Remote (Initial training onsite in Lisle or Woodridge, IL. MUST BE LOCAL. Training is onsite 5 days a week.) 
Pay: $31–$35/hr 


About the Role

We’re hiring a Technical Service Consultant to support a national dealer network with vehicle repair and diagnostics. This role is ideal for someone with strong diesel experience and customer-facing technical support skills.

You’ll act as a subject matter expert, assisting dealer technicians through case management, troubleshooting, and documentation review to ensure vehicles remain compliant and operating efficiently.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to dealer technicians and body builders on vehicle repairs and diagnostics
  • Review and support case files, schematics, diagrams, and diagnostic steps
  • Assist with troubleshooting and issue resolution across non-engine vehicle systems
  • Partner with internal teams to improve technical publications and documentation
  • Identify and escalate recurring failure trends to Service Engineering
  • Handle high-volume support across both case management and phone interactions
  • Maintain strong customer service and communication with dealer network
  • Potential for up to 10% travel to dealer sites (reimbursed)

Required Qualifications

  • Diesel experience is required (must have hands-on or strong technical exposure)
  • 2+ years of automotive, truck service, or field service engineering experience
    OR 4+ years of relevant experience without a degree
  • Strong customer service and end-user support experience
  • Ability to interpret technical documentation, schematics, and repair processes
  • Must be able to attend onsite training in Lisle or Woodridge, IL

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Class 8 trucks
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
