Summary

We are seeking a Licensed Registered Dietitian to provide professional dietetics services within a healthcare facility setting. This role is responsible for planning therapeutic diets, administering medical nutrition therapy, assessing nutritional needs, developing individualized nutrition care plans, and providing dietary counseling. The Registered Dietitian will serve as a key consultant to medical and nursing staff while helping patients achieve and maintain optimal nutritional health.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments using medical records, diagnoses, nutrition histories, laboratory values, anthropometric measurements, and dietary intake data.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized nutrition care plans.
  • Provide medical nutrition therapy to prevent and treat various diseases and health conditions.
  • Educate and counsel patients regarding dietary needs, nutritional goals, and therapeutic diet requirements.
  • Calculate nutritional requirements including calorie, protein, fluid, and nutrient needs.
  • Evaluate weight ranges, body mass index (BMI), and other nutrition-related indicators to support treatment planning.
  • Review and analyze therapeutic menus to ensure nutritional adequacy and compliance with dietary prescriptions.
  • Assess caloric and nutrient content of foods and recommend modifications to meet patient-specific needs.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams regarding nutrition-related interventions.
  • Monitor patient outcomes and adjust nutrition care plans as appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of assessments, care plans, interventions, and patient progress.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, healthcare regulations, and professional standards of practice.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, Home Economics (Food), or a closely related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Current and active Registered Dietitian (RD) credential is required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of professional dietetics experience.
  • At least one (1) year of experience working as a Registered Dietitian.
  • Strong knowledge of therapeutic diets, clinical nutrition, and medical nutrition therapy.
  • Experience conducting nutrition assessments and developing individualized care plans.
  • Ability to interpret laboratory values, medical diagnoses, and nutrition-related clinical data.
  • Strong communication and patient counseling skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals in a multidisciplinary environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a healthcare, hospital, long-term care, correctional, or institutional setting.
  • Graduate coursework in Dietetics, Nutrition, Home Economics (Food), or a related field.
  • Experience with electronic medical records and nutrition documentation systems.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and accreditation standards related to clinical nutrition services.
