About the Opportunity

We’re seeking a talented Digital Modeler to join a fast-paced automotive design team supporting the development of high-fidelity interior and exterior vehicle models. In this role, you will transform design concepts into production-feasible digital surfaces while collaborating closely with designers, engineers, and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Develop high-fidelity 3D digital models that accurately capture and communicate design intent.
  • Create interior and exterior vehicle surfaces within project timelines and quality expectations.
  • Determine optimal modeling tools, methods, and workflows for efficient execution.
  • Collaborate with design, engineering, and program teams to ensure accurate surface development.
  • Interpret engineering and technical documentation, including hard points, engineering sections, draft angles, part breakups, verification points, and manufacturing constraints.
  • Support digital model builds and surface refinement activities throughout the design process.
  • Troubleshoot complex modeling challenges and provide innovative solutions.
  • Maintain data quality, accuracy, and adherence to established modeling standards and procedures.
  • Foster strong working relationships across all levels of the design organization.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Transportation Design, Industrial Design, or related field.
  • Proficiency in 3D digital modeling.
  • Minimum 1 year of professional industry experience.
  • Portfolio demonstrating high-quality 3D modeling work (required).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Alias, Rhino, Blender, Gravity Sketch, AI-assisted modeling tools, or similar software.
  • Knowledge of digital surfacing standards, procedures, and data delivery processes.
  • Familiarity with vehicle design and automotive product development workflows.
  • Experience creating production-oriented surface models.
  • Understanding of automotive engineering requirements and manufacturing constraints.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office applications.
