DESCRIPTION
Seeking an experienced Electrical Design & Release Engineer to support the development, validation, release, and launch of vehicle exterior lighting systems. This role is responsible for hands-on troubleshooting, electrical testing, supplier coordination, interface management, and program execution to ensure high-quality electrical system performance and successful product launches.

RESPONSIBILITES

  • Lead electrical engineering activities for exterior lighting components and systems throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Perform hands-on troubleshooting and root cause analysis of electrical systems, modules, harnesses, and interfaces.
  • Develop and maintain electrical requirements, technical specifications, and Interface Control Documents (ICDs).
  • Plan and execute electrical bench testing using oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, and other diagnostic tools.
  • Support validation, design verification, launch activities, and production readiness.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional engineering teams and suppliers to resolve technical issues and meet program timing.
  • Lead supplier design reviews, evaluate schematics and technical documentation, and identify design risks early.
  • Track engineering deliverables, open issues, and launch readiness activities.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in electrical engineering, product development, validation, design release, or issue resolution.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical circuits, power distribution, grounding, signal behavior, and system integration.
  • Hands-on experience troubleshooting electrical systems and performing bench testing.
  • Experience using oscilloscopes, multimeters, current clamps, power supplies, and other diagnostic equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to travel locally as needed.

PREFERENCE 

  • Automotive exterior lighting or vehicle electrical architecture experience.
  • Experience with electrical schematics, block diagrams, and Interface Control Documents (ICDs).
  • Knowledge of GMW DV/PV validation processes, launch support, and production issue resolution.
  • Experience leading suppliers through design reviews, validation activities, and technical issue resolution.
  • Previous Design & Release (DRE) experience.
