Embedded Software Engineer III
Location: Irving, TX (Onsite)
Compensation: $63.00 – $67.00/hour
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 40 Hours per Week
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Embedded Software Engineer III to join a team developing advanced autonomous and semi-autonomous technologies. This position focuses on localization, positioning, navigation, and state estimation software used in next-generation robotic and autonomous systems.
The successful candidate will contribute to the design, development, testing, and deployment of production-quality software while collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams to bring innovative solutions from concept to implementation.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality C++ software for localization and positioning systems.
- Develop algorithms utilizing sensor fusion, inertial measurements, GNSS, and perception-based inputs.
- Support software architecture, requirements development, validation, and verification activities.
- Troubleshoot complex software issues through debugging, profiling, and root cause analysis.
- Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including design, coding, testing, and documentation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to move concepts from prototype to production.
- Research, evaluate, and implement advanced localization and navigation technologies.
- Support functional safety software development and validation efforts.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Robotics, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- 5+ years of software engineering experience.
- Strong expertise in C++ development.
- Proficiency in Python.
- Experience with State Estimation methodologies.
- Knowledge of Inertial Measurement Technology (IMU/INS).
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working within the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work onsite in Irving, TX.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Robotics, Autonomous Systems, or Automation technologies.
- Knowledge of Kalman Filters, Extended Kalman Filters (EKF), or Error State Filters.
- Experience with localization, navigation, and sensor fusion systems.
- SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping) experience.
- Experience with ROS (Robot Operating System).
- Knowledge of GNSS, inertial navigation, and graph optimization techniques.
- Strong mathematical foundation in linear algebra, 3D geometry, and statistical modeling.
- Understanding of vehicle dynamics and physics-based modeling.
- Ability to transform research concepts into production-ready software solutions.
