Location: Rocket Park, FL
Pay Range: $69-71 Per Hour
Job Type: W2 Contract
Schedule: Monday-Friday
Hours: 40 per week

Position Summary

We are seeking a Tooling Design Engineer to support New Glenn production operations. This role is responsible for designing and developing manufacturing tooling, fixtures, and support equipment used throughout the build process. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical design skills, hands-on manufacturing experience, and expertise in Creo, Windchill, and GD&T.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and release tooling CAD models and engineering drawings using Creo and ASME Y14.5 standards.
  • Develop tooling solutions including assembly fixtures, material handling equipment, test fixtures, weldments, environmental chambers, and custom machinery.
  • Manage tooling projects from concept through fabrication, installation, commissioning, and proof testing.
  • Coordinate vendor selection, procurement activities, fabrication priorities, and project schedules.
  • Support repair, rework, and root cause investigations for tooling and manufacturing issues.
  • Develop packaging and material handling solutions to protect flight hardware.
  • Partner with Design, Manufacturing, and Integration Engineering teams to improve safety, quality, cost, and production efficiency.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Experience designing, fabricating, and procuring manufacturing tooling.
  • Proficiency with CAD-based design and drafting software.
  • Experience with Creo Parametric and Windchill.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical design, manufacturing processes, and GD&T.
  • Ability to perform load analyses, free-body diagrams, and basic engineering calculations.
  • 3+ years of manufacturing experience.
  • Must meet U.S. export control requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • BS in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or Aerospace Engineering.
  • Experience with tolerance stack-up analysis and advanced GD&T application.
  • Knowledge of CNC machining, welding, sheet metal fabrication, assembly, lifting and rigging, and inspection processes.
  • Experience with FEA and ANSYS Workbench.
  • Strong Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) experience.
  • Experience supporting products from development through production and launch.
