EPITEC is seeking a Safety Specialist to support the implementation and maintenance of safety programs across diverse work environments including offices, research laboratories, and automotive garages for our leading Automotive Client

 

Location : Long Beach , California

Type : Long term Contract

Work Setting : Onsite ( 5 days / weeks in Office)

 

 

Summary

 

This role is essential to ensuring a safe and compliant workplace by conducting risk assessments, delivering safety training, and supporting emergency response planning.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct risk assessments and hazard analyses
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations (OSHA, EPA, etc.)
  • Assist in developing and delivering safety training programs
  • Document and report safety incidents and near misses
  • Participate in safety audits and inspections
  • Support emergency response planning and drills
  • Monitor and maintain safety equipment and supplies
  • Analyze safety data to identify trends and improvement opportunities
  • Report hazardous materials and environmental data to regulators and MB AG
  • Maintain site-specific emergency response plans and procedures
  • Provide SHE technical support for site initiatives and projects
  • Perform safety and environmental compliance duties as assigned

 

Required Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, or related field
  • 2–4 years of experience in manufacturing, automotive, or industrial operations with SHE involvement
  • Basic understanding of safety regulations and programs (OSHA, EPA, IIPP, SPCC)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work effectively in both office and field environments
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Safety certifications such as OSHA 30-hour, CSP (Certified Safety Professional), or similar
  • Experience with management systems like VPP, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, or ISO 45001
