Summary

Our client is seeking a Facilities Engineering Project Manager to support manufacturing operations through facility engineering and project management initiatives. This role focuses on planning, coordinating, and executing infrastructure and equipment-related projects within a production environment.

This position is ideal for an experienced engineering professional with a strong background in manufacturing operations, facilities systems, and cross-functional project execution.

The Facilities Engineering Project Manager will work closely with engineering, maintenance, operations, and external vendors to ensure projects are completed efficiently while maintaining compliance with safety and operational standards.

This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to large-scale manufacturing operations while driving facility improvements, supporting production continuity, and enhancing infrastructure performance.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management & Facilities Engineering

  • Coordinate, plan, and manage multi-discipline facility and maintenance-based projects
  • Provide project management oversight for infrastructure, production equipment, and process-related initiatives
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external contractors to ensure successful project execution
  • Assign, coordinate, and review work of support staff and contract personnel

Infrastructure Design & Implementation

  • Provide engineering design for facility systems including mechanical, electrical, and structural components
  • Support infrastructure and production equipment upgrades using internal and external resources
  • Manage projects that may involve multiple engineering disciplines

Operations Support & Troubleshooting

  • Troubleshoot facility infrastructure and production equipment issues to support manufacturing operations
  • Support maintenance, production, and distribution teams to minimize downtime
  • Work with non-mobile material handling equipment applications, engineering, and installation

Safety, Compliance & Risk Management

  • Conduct life safety and building code analysis to support compliance initiatives
  • Identify and help resolve environmental, safety, ergonomic, and health risks
  • Support programs that prevent workplace injuries and ensure adherence to OSHA standards
  • Coordinate efforts related to Emergency Notification Systems (ENS) and safety initiatives

Vendor & Resource Management

  • Identify and evaluate suppliers for materials, equipment, and services
  • Support sourcing and coordination of contractors for maintenance and construction projects
  • Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers

Required Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in project management within manufacturing, facilities engineering, or maintenance environments
  • Experience coordinating contractors and multiple skilled trades
  • 3+ years of experience with building infrastructure systems (mechanical, electrical, structural)
  • 3+ years of experience supporting manufacturing operations from an engineering perspective

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in facilities engineering and project management within manufacturing environments
  • Strong understanding of building infrastructure systems and engineering principles
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and compliance requirements
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional teams and external contractors
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with Emergency Notification Systems (ENS) 
  • Experience coordinating with insurance or safety compliance organizations (e.g., FM Global)
  • Background in IT or network-related facility projects
  • Experience supporting large-scale manufacturing or distribution operations
