Foundry Manufacturing Engineer

Work Arrangement: Onsite
Contract Duration: W2 Contract – 2 years, possible extension
Schedule: 2nd Shift (3:30 PM – 12:00 AM) or 3rd Shift (10:30 PM – 7:00 AM), based on production needs
Pay: $38.00/hr
About the Opportunity
We are seeking a Foundry Manufacturing Engineer to support manufacturing operations within a high-volume foundry environment. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys hands-on problem solving, process improvement, and collaborating directly with production teams on the shop floor. The position offers the opportunity to lead engineering projects while working closely with operators, supervisors, and cross-functional partners to drive safety, quality, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and execute manufacturing engineering projects within the foundry operation
- Support production processes through hands-on engineering and technical expertise
- Collaborate with operations, quality, maintenance, and manufacturing teams to improve performance
- Identify and resolve process issues impacting safety, quality, delivery, and productivity
- Analyze manufacturing data and implement process improvements
- Assist with equipment, tooling, and process optimization initiatives
- Work directly on the shop floor approximately 75% of the time to support daily operations and continuous improvement efforts
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or equivalent relevant experience
- Minimum of 1 year of foundry engineering, manufacturing engineering, or process engineering experience
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Effective communication and problem-solving abilities
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Preferred Qualifications
- Manufacturing process design or production line design experience
- Experience with SAP, MES, Creo, or AutoCAD
- Controls engineering or industrial safety systems experience
- FANUC robotics programming and troubleshooting experience
- Experience supporting continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives
Work Environment
- Fully onsite position in a manufacturing/foundry setting
- Approximately 75% of time spent on the production floor
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds as needed
- Minimal overtime expected
- Occasional travel between nearby facilities may be required
