JOB DETAILS FOR A FRONTEND ENGINEER – AI APPLICATIONS:
Seeking a Frontend Engineer with deep expertise in the React ecosystem to support Caterpillar’s AI Engineering team. This role focuses on building sophisticated user interfaces for enterprise-grade AI applications, including conversational interfaces, data visualization, and efficient data display.
JOB SUMMARY FOR A FRONTEND ENGINEER – AI APPLICATIONS:
- Develop robust UI components using React, TypeScript, and state management libraries like Redux or TanStack Query.
- Build conversational interfaces and chatbot UIs integrated with backend AI services.
- Create interactive data visualizations using D3.js or Recharts.
- Implement performant tabular data displays using react-table or ag-Grid.
- Collaborate with UI/UX designers and backend engineers to deliver seamless, scalable AI applications.
- Write unit and integration tests using Jest and React Testing Library; use Storybook for isolated component development.
- Integrate CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or Jenkins.
- Work with AWS/Azure services to support frontend-cloud integration.
RESPONSIBILITIES FOR A FRONTEND ENGINEER – AI APPLICATIONS:
- Build and maintain reusable React components.
- Manage complex application states for real-time AI data.
- Develop and optimize conversational UIs.
- Visualize AI-generated data with performance and accessibility in mind.
- Collaborate across engineering, design, and IT teams.
- Ensure quality through testing and CI/CD practices.
- Support cloud integration and deployment.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE FOR A FRONTEND ENGINEER – AI APPLICATIONS:
- 4+ years of frontend development experience.
- Strong proficiency in React and TypeScript.
- Experience with Redux or TanStack Query.
- Familiarity with D3.js, Recharts, react-table, ag-Grid.
- Knowledge of AWS or Azure services.
- Experience with testing frameworks and UI libraries like Material UI or Chakra UI.
- AI experience preferred but not required (GitHub Copilot, Ollama, Continue, etc. are a plus).
