Summary

John Deere is seeking a General Clerk II – Support to support administrative and operational activities at the Dubuque Works facility. This role focuses on clerical support, data and document management, reporting, and customer inquiry response while supporting factory 5S initiatives and printing operations.

The position involves working with standard procedures to analyze information of intermediate difficulty, resolve discrepancies, maintain process documentation, and support visual manufacturing solutions across operations.

Key Responsibilities

Clerical & Administrative Support

  • Perform clerical office duties including document processing, data retrieval, filing, and report preparation
  • Compile data to prepare standard and special reports using defined formats
  • Verify accuracy and completeness of data submissions and forms
  • Enter data into appropriate systems following standard procedures

Customer & Inquiry Support

  • Respond to standard customer inquiries and produce written correspondence
  • Receive incoming inquiries and refer complex requests to appropriate staff
  • Contact customers outside the immediate work area as needed

5S, Printing & Visual Management

  • Design print layouts for custom signage, factory shadow boards, and visual displays using Adobe Illustrator and other design software
  • Manage the 5S request queue and supporting systems
  • Print labels, decals, banners, and signage for facility use
  • Maintain and update existing factory signage
  • Manage print room supplies, raw materials, and external ordering of consumables
  • Maintain the 5S SharePoint site
  • Support inventory management for 5S keep-fill

Process Support & Analysis

  • Prepare and maintain department process documentation
  • Track metrics such as transactions processed, phone calls received, and forms completed
  • Perform basic to intermediate analysis and resolve discrepancies following prescribed procedures
  • Coordinate with skilled trades and process improvement teams to support visual manufacturing solutions

Required Skills & Experience

  • Clerical or administrative support experience
  • Experience with document processing, data entry, and report preparation
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data handling
  • Ability to analyze information and resolve discrepancies using standard procedures
  • Proficiency with computer systems and office software

Additional Requirements

  • Onsite role; remote work not permitted
  • Metatarsal safety boots required
  • Visa sponsorship is not available

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting manufacturing or factory environments
  • Familiarity with 5S or visual management practices
  • Experience working with Adobe Illustrator or similar design software
