Job Title: Grants Support Specialist
Contract Duration: 1 year, possible extension
Location: Northbrook, IL
Work Arrangement: Remote
Work Schedule: 8am-5pm CST
Pay Rate: $15-17/hour 

Summary
The individuals will support the grantmaking operations by responding to grant inquiries and helping process grants to nonprofits across the country. Work includes (but is not limited to):

  • Managing email inbox: (50%)
  • Assisting agency force and nonprofits with grant processing issues by troubleshooting and researching the issue. (35%)
  • Assisting internal stakeholders with grant status inquiries, group project setup and project finalization. (10%)
  • Directing and responding to unsolicited grant requests, media requests and program inquiries using the proper templated responses or by reaching out to the appropriate team member for assistance. (5%)
  • Assisting with day to day operations (50%)
  • Mail merging grant agreements, creating impact reports, uploading backup documentation into grantmaking system. (15%)
  • Assisting with moving grants along the approval process in coordination with the Foundation program teams. (5%)
  • Running weekly and monthly operations reports. (15%)
  • Assisting with bi-annual payment to payee and monthly bank statement reconciliations. Following up with nonprofits for payment reissues. (5%)
  • Proofreading and testing changes to program proposal types, impact reports and communications. (5%)
  • Supporting Foundation Team with miscellaneous administrative tasks. (5%)

Skills Required

  • Outstanding customer service skills; ability to work with diverse individuals and stakeholders.
  • Keen attention to detail. Must be comfortable reading and reviewing numbers and copy.
  • Ability to adapt, organize and streamline projects to work quickly and accurately.
  • Ability to work well under deadline pressure and prioritize work as needed.
  • Ability to learn functioning of grantmaking software that tracks charitable contributions.
  • Ability to use Microsoft suite of products, particularly Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Ability to mail merge complex spreadsheet into easy-to-read Word documents and Outlook email templates.
