Overview
We are seeking an IT Operations Support Specialist to join an onsite Plant IT team supporting a large, complex manufacturing facility. This role offers hands?on exposure to both IT infrastructure and manufacturing systems, supporting daily production operations while contributing to future?focused technology initiatives.
The position provides an excellent opportunity for IT professionals looking to expand their technical skill set, gain manufacturing experience, and work closely with cross?functional business and global IT teams.
Responsibilities
- Provide onsite IT operations and technical support for manufacturing plant systems
- Support IT applications, infrastructure, operating systems, and end?user productivity tools across the facility
- Troubleshoot and resolve incidents related to servers, networks, applications, and plant floor systems
- Support incident triage, escalations, and business continuity efforts
- Interface with global IT teams (e.g., Server Operations, Network Operations, DBA, Ops Control) to resolve issues
- Support both legacy manufacturing systems and newer digital solutions
- Assist with process improvement initiatives supporting flexible and lean manufacturing
- Maintain accurate technical documentation and knowledge sharing
- Support a multi?shift manufacturing environment, including flexibility for off?shift or weekend production when needed
- Assist site IT leadership with managing assignments and workload as needed
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Experience with or willingness to quickly learn:
- Windows Server (2016+) and/or Linux server administration
- Windows Active Directory / ADFS
- Virtual environments (VMware vSphere)
- Cisco routers and switches (basic staging, troubleshooting, and cabling)
- Office 365 and SharePoint
- Windows PCs, printers, and office automation tools
- Android and iOS devices (iPhones, iPads)
- Handheld scanners and imaging devices
- Strong technical troubleshooting and customer support skills
- Ability to work onsite with flexible hours in support of a multi?shift operation
Preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Experience with:
- Cisco Software?Defined Architecture (SDA)
- PowerShell scripting
- Plant floor or industrial automation systems (PLCs, control systems)
- Manufacturing or industrial IT environments
- IIoT, mobility solutions, or digital manufacturing technologies
